The Cobblestone Factory is a privately owned company and has been making its own cobbles and pavers out of its Harris Rd premises since 1984. Senior members of the factory staff have all been with us in excess of 10 years. Staff carry out 90% of our repairs and maintenance and are encouraged to share their ideas towards the improvement of product and the on going development of the plant. Our Cobblestones and pavers are mass-produced out of 'dry-mix' coloured concrete. The pavers are all compressed and vibrated under pressure out of the same mould so size and shape is regular or constant. Finished product 'cures' on trays overnight in our 'hot room', which accelerates the curing time and increases the final strength of the paver. Custom made colours are available on request but please plan ahead because we prefer to leave product for 14 days after it has been made before delivering to customers to minimise the risk of efflorescence.
